Mat. 2:2
After Jesus was born, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem to pay homage. What these wise men saw was THE star, out of the many other stars in the heavens. There was a king in Jerusalem – king Herod. But the wise men said, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage” (Mat. 2:2).
There would have been billions of stars, but only one led them to Jesus. As they observed the one star, they came and saw Jesus. There was also a king. But they knew that it was not Herod’s star and asked where the true king was.
Today, there are billions of things to distract us from finding the true star. But, this Christmas season, let us try to discern and understand the real star and step out and come to Him and worship Him. There may be innumerable rulers and kings, but Jesus is the only king, the only Way, the Truth and the Life. Let Him be born in us so we may worship Him in spirit and in truth.
